Project #2 Celebrate Card

This card came from a sketch which was part of a card challenge on message board.

I used Soirée by Heidi Swapp/House of Three collection.  It was a kit I purchased from HSN.  It came with 12 x 12 papers, stamps, jewels, flag kit and other embellishments.

To make a card like this one take an 8 ½” x 11” sheet of white cardstock and folded it to create a long card.  Then trim it to fit inside a business size envelope.  Choose a piece of pattern paper which is at least 4 ¼” x 11” and cut a rectangle to cover the front of the card base (the piece of white cardstock).  Measure and cut enough twine to wrap around the pattern paper longwise.  Wrap it around the pattern paper and tied it in a bow.  Then glue that to the front of the card base.  Take a piece of white cardstock that was trimmed off the card base and stamped a long design twice on to it.  Then cut out the long designs separately keeping your lines straight.  Glue the long designs vertically to the left side of the card with about ½ inch space from the edge of the card and in between the designs.  This will help keep the twine in place about an inch from the bottom of the card horizontally.  Take a chipboard embellishment that said “Celebrate” and glue it to the front of the card slightly over the edge (a little off center) of the inner most stamped design.  Punch 3 small holes in the right hand corner going vertically to place 3 tiny brads.  Start about ½ inch from the top and from the edge of the card.  This step can also be done before gluing the pattern paper to the card base to hide the back of the brads.  This finishes the outside of your card.  You can now stamp or write a sentiment inside the card or on a separate piece of cardstock then cut to the size of the inside of the card and glue inside the card

The color and size of the card aren’t what I usually work with but I like the finished project and hope you do too.
